Reading on the Break

Image
Hi, my name is Arya and I am going to be telling you guys about what book I have been reading during the coronavirus break. Being the careless person that I am, I didn't even think about what to read for the break so I didn't take any books from the library or from school. All I had were the books in my dad's personal library. Unfortunately, not many of those books were fiction and packed with action like most of the books I usually read. Instead, I chose an educational, eye-opening, and surprisingly fun to read book: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People . It doesn't sound like a super fun book to read, which is what I thought when I picked up. Although it didn't sound like an interesting book to me, the deeper I got into it, the more I started to like it. This book is a national bestseller and (as the title says) is about the habits of highly effective people. It's written by Stephen R. Covey, the chairman of the Covey Leadership Center and the Institute f...

Ready Player One Review by Nick

Hello people, I recently read Ready Player One for the first time since 4th grade and unsurprisingly it felt like I was reading a brand new book. I remembered the general premise of the book, but I forgot almost every detail about any of the characters or the plot. This made rereading the book much more enjoyable because I knew that I liked the basics of the plot, but I would still be able to become invested in character and plot development because of my limited knowledge. I was also looking forward to understanding more of the story because I am now 5 years older than I was when I first read it. Here is a spoiler-free summary in case you haven't read the book or seen the movie: In the year 2045 most of the world is ridden with unemployment, overpopulation and energy shortages. In order to escape their horrible real world lives almost every one logs into the OASIS, a hyper-realistic video game world, daily. 18 year old Wade Watts is this story's protagonist and the book s...

Vampire Academy Review Lili T

Heyo it's Lili thanks for reading and hope your quarantine is going well. With the extra time on my hands I decided to start re reading some book series that I own. Most of them I haven't read since 5-7th ish grade so I don't remember much about them. Another thing I've been doing since quarantined is I continued watching shows and just started The Vampire Diaries. Because of this, when I was looking at my old series, I thought which one would be better to read than one about vampires. I just finished the first book of The Vampire Academy series titled Vampire Academy. The book is by Richelle Mead (as well as the rest of the series) and was published in 2007. The book tells the story of two best friends, Lissa Dragomir a Moroi Princess, and her guardian Rose Hathaway who is a Dhampir. The Moroi are a race of vampires that have been almost entirely wiped out by the Strigoi (an evil race of vampires) except for Lissa. The book is told from the point of vie...
